What your browser stores
A few tools save a little state on your device instead of a server.
- The bill analyzer tools hold your uploaded file in sessionStorage while you move between steps. That storage clears when you close the tab.
- The cost optimization checklist saves your checked items in localStorage. Your progress stays there for your next visit.
Your files stay in your browser
Every calculator and analyzer on this site parses your file on your device.
Your bill, invoice, or export is never uploaded to a server and never sent to CostMon.
The contact form
The contact form is a same-origin request handled by one Lambda function.
A submission triggers one email to the CostMon team through Amazon SES.
There is no database behind these forms and no third-party form service.
The Lambda logs record that a message was sent. They do not record what you wrote.
How this site is hosted
This site is static files served from a private S3 bucket through Amazon CloudFront.
CloudFront access logging is off for this distribution.
AWS still processes request data, such as your IP address, to deliver the page to you. That happens for every website on the internet, and CostMon does not add anything on top of it.
This page is about the website, not the product
The CostMon product is a separate, sign-in-only system with its own account data.

This site does not publish an email address for privacy requests.

No. No page on this site sets a cookie.
If a bill analyzer parses my file, where does the file go?
Nowhere. The analyzer runs in your browser and reads the file on your device. It is never uploaded to a server.
What happens when I submit the contact form?
Your submission goes to one Lambda function, which sends one email to the CostMon team through Amazon SES. There is no database and no third-party form service. The logs record that a message was sent, not what it said.
Does AWS see anything about my visit?
Yes. AWS processes request data, such as your IP address, to serve this static site through CloudFront. CostMon does not log this separately, and CloudFront access logging is off for this site.
How do I ask a question about my data?
Use the contact page. This site does not publish a separate privacy email address.
